JoJo water tanks and booster pump installed by Ekhaya Projects

01

Who it’s for

Homes with a new or existing borehole that need storage and house pressure. Homes without a borehole that want a buffer against municipal water cuts. Businesses, schools and developments that can’t run dry.

A borehole pump fills the tank; the booster pump draws from the tank and pushes water through the house at a steady pressure. Together they turn a borehole into a supply you don’t notice, because it just works.

What we install

  • JoJo tanks

UV-stabilised, food-grade JoJo tanks from 2 500 to 10 000 litres, sized to how much water you use and how long you want to last without a refill.

  • Booster pumps

Variable-speed (VSD) or smart pressure booster pumps with pressure sensors and non-return valves, so showers and taps get even, municipal-grade pressure instead of surges and drops.

  • Float switches

Automatic level control: the borehole pump fills the tank and stops when it’s full, so nothing overflows or runs dry.

  • Municipal bypass

Bypass valves that let the system switch between borehole and municipal water, so you’re covered whichever one is down.

How an installation works

  1. 01

    Plan the system

Kelvin looks at your water use, your borehole’s yield and where a tank can stand, then sizes the tank and pump.

  2. 02

    Base and tank

The tank goes onto a level, solid base close to the borehole and the house.

  3. 03

    Plumb and wire

We connect the borehole pump, the booster pump and the bypass to your plumbing, and wire the controls.

  4. 04

    Test the pressure

We run the system through a full cycle and check pressure at the taps before we hand over.

“Ekhaya Projects delivered beyond expectations. Friendly staff, professional service, and they followed up after installation to ensure everything was working perfectly.”

Questions, answered

Common questions

What size JoJo tank do I need?

It depends on how much water your household or business uses in a day and how long you want to be covered without a refill. We install tanks from 2 500 to 10 000 litres, and Kelvin will size one for you at the survey.

Do I need a booster pump?

If the tank is at ground level, yes: gravity alone won’t give you proper pressure in the house. A booster pump draws from the tank and keeps pressure steady at the taps.

Can the system switch between borehole and municipal water?

Yes. Bypass valves let the house run on borehole water or municipal water, so you have a backup whichever supply fails.

Will the booster pump work during load-shedding?

A booster pump needs electricity, so during an outage it needs a backup supply such as an inverter. Ask Kelvin about the options when you book. The borehole itself can keep filling the tank if it has a solar pump.
